Athletics

Skyuka Hall basketball team participation is available for all students in all grades -, lower, middle, and upper.  All students are welcome!!  As we grow as a school, try-outs may become necessary, but as of the 2020-21 school year, all children are welcome to come join a team that may just change their life. At Skyuka Hall, we believe that sports like basketball are much more than a game.  It is an opportunity for a child to learn how to find their inner drive that so many students often have difficulty seeing.  They are taught team values, work ethic, morals, optimism, overcoming, and every life lesson we believe children need.  We always say this is much more than a sport. It is a place for children to learn how to be everything they were created to be... there just happens to be a ball involved.  Since the basketball program began 4 years ago, we have seen children come out of the program with a confidence they had never before experienced.

Wolf Pack golf began during the 2019-20 school year with practice twice weekly at Valleybrook Golf Course.  Golf is open to students of all grades, but at this time only middle school and upper school students can compete during a season.  These students learn the precision of golf techniques, love of the sport, and enjoyment of the competition.
 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year we were unable to start our official first season of middle and upper school track with TMSAA and TSSAA, so we are more than excited to start this year with our amazing students! 

Track will begin in the spring and we will have events such as shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump, high jump, 4x800 meter relay, 100 meter dash, 4 x 200 meter relay, 1,600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, 400 meter dash, 300 meter dash, intermediate hurdles, 800 meter run, 200 meter dash, 3200 meter run, and 4 x 400 meter relay.

This will be the fifth year for cross country at Skyuka Hall and our second year in TSSAA and we are very excited about that!  Last year was an amazing first year for our middle and high school cross country teams and we look forward to continuing that this upcoming school year.  

Students participating in middle school cross country will run a 2 mile race and students participating in upper school cross country will be running a 3 mile race.

All students are welcome to join the Skyuka Hall climbing team, no experience is necessary.  Our climbers enjoy practice twice weekly from September until March and will learn about belaying, bouldering, and also strength training.  Since this sport began in 2015 we have had some amazing climbers come through Skyuka Hall that never thought about climbing ever in their life and we are proud to say they have grown into  skilled, strong, confident climbers. 

Climbers are required to purchase a membership through High Point Climbing Gym
